How To Share Your Fundraiser On Instagram

Last Updated 01/10/2020

Instagram famously only allows a single link in your bio, so if you want to share different content, you have to constantly update that link and then say "Check link in bio" on your posts. This is not ideal for sharing any other content, like your online fundraiser, so you will rarely see an Instagram "share" button alongside other share buttons for Facebook or Twitter.

FreeFunder has solved this problem, making it easy to share your fundraiser on Instagram, using Text-To-Donate!

Here's how it works:

First, choose a keyword for your fundraiser. You can do this by logging into your FreeFunder account and clicking on your campaign, and then going to the "Text-To-Donate" section.

When you pick your keyword, FreeFunder will automatically create an Instagram-friendly image that displays your main fundraiser image along with text explaining how to Text-To-Donate! See the example below:

Once you've picked your Text-To-Donate keyword, a new Instagram "Share" button will appear on your fundraiser page next to all the other sharing options! When someone clicks on it, they'll be prompted to download this handy IG-friendly picture, so they can then add it to their Instagram page or story. It's that easy!

Text-To-Donate is free and available for personal campaigns, only on FreeFunder!

FreeFunder Works!

When an accidental fire burned through the third floor and attic of an apartment complex, Colleen Fallon wanted to help her friends the Moore Family. After researching different crowd funding platforms, she chose FreeFunder because FreeFunder passes the entire donation on to the Campaign Creator, instead of taking 5% or more as other platforms do.

The Moores were unharmed in the fire, but many of their belongings were lost and they needed help getting resituated. Colleen set a goal amount of $1,482. Within 16 hours, the FreeFunder campaign had blown past that goal, already raising $2,370, as mentioned in this news article. By the end of the campaign, the fundraiser raised more than 300% of the goal amount, providing the Moore Family with $5,165 to help them rebuild.

"What an amazing thing to wake up to! ...In only 11 hours of this being created you all have seen the goal line and then hurdled it! ...Thank you to all who have donated and shared this link, everything little bit helps. I'll be seeing Marcus and Heather this weekend and can't wait to give them some hope for the future because of everyone who has shown compassion. Cheers to all!" - Colleen Fallon
