On August 24, our hearts were shattered when we received the devastating news that Sofia, along with her brothers Marcos Jr. and Gabriela, lost both of their parents. In this unimaginable time, we are grateful that their aunt and uncle stepped forward to embrace them with open arms, welcoming the children into a new home filled with love, alongside their two young cousins.

The outpouring of emotional, moral, and spiritual support we've received from our community has been overwhelming, and we cannot express how much it has meant to all of us. However, as this family navigates their new reality, they face not only emotional challenges but also financial ones. Overnight, they’ve gone from a family of four to a family of seven, and with that comes an immense responsibility.

While they have already received some donations, we felt called to establish a fund to help them provide for the children’s immediate and ongoing needs. This will allow the family to focus on what truly matters: healing and creating a new sense of stability and comfort for these children, who have already endured so much.

The fund will go towards:

1. **Bedroom furniture**: Beds, dressers, and essentials to make the children feel at home.

2. **Daily necessities**: Food, toiletries, hygiene products, and medicine.

3. **School supplies**: Textbooks, laptops, and any materials they need to succeed academically.

4. **Clothing**: New clothes and shoes as they continue to grow.

5. **Counseling services**: Emotional support through therapy and counseling to help them process this profound loss.

6. **Extracurricular activities**: Fees for sports, arts, and other programs to nurture their passions.

7. **Bikes and outdoor equipment**: Encouraging physical activity and joy through bicycles, helmets, and sports gear.

8.** Down payment on a vehicle: A larger family requires a larger car and this will help cover the cost of a vehicle that can comfortably accommodate everyone.

Though their aunt and uncle are doing everything they can to provide, it's clear that they need the help of a caring community to support this major transition. They are committed to giving these children a healthy, happy, and stable life, but they can't do it alone.
