Spay/Neuter Mexico Clinic
If you have ever known the unconditional love of an animal, please contribute to those not so lucky to be born and wanted by someone like you.
One pair of strays and their offspring can produce over 67,000 puppies within six years - many of which will suffer greatly if they survive at all. The root of this problem can be solved with free spay and neuter clinics.
There are over 50,000 stray dogs and cats in the Guaymas/San Carlos Region of Sonora, Mexico. This number is increasing because Mexican laborers cannot pay local veterinarians, and unwanted litters are abandoned in fields or streets to die. Puppies who survive birth from a sickly, abandoned mother then risk death from cars, poisoning and starvation.
SBPA is a nonprofit, 501C3 (tax deductible) organization out of Tucson, Arizona that operates free spay and neuter clinics in Sonora, Mexico. SBPA is run solely by volunteers with no paid staff. In 2022, SBPA spayed and neutered over 7,000 dogs and cats using regional veterinarians willing to perform that surgery for $19 per animal including anesthesia, medical dressings, sutures, antibiotics, and other medicines. Kennels, pee pads, maintenance of our equipment, cleaning and disinfectant supplies….all cost extra.
The goal of this campaign is to raise $22,800. That is just enough money to spay and neuter 1,000 animals during the month of January, preventing the death and suffering of countless more.
