Tyler's Recovery Fund
On April 3rd, my nephew Tyler Fifield was involved in a horrific car accident that changed his life in an instant. He was airlifted by LifeFlight to the ICU burn unit where he is currently in stable condition but under medical sedation. His injuries are extensive and heartbreaking:
- A broken orbital bone and nose
- A broken wrist
- A broken ulna and wrist (requiring surgery)
- A fractured femur and tibia (also requiring surgery)
- Multiple broken ribs
- A collapsed lung requiring intubation
- Extensive burns to a significant portion of his body.
In the weeks and months ahead, Tyler will face multiple surgeries and painful skin graft procedures. His recovery will require long-term rehabilitation, physical therapy, and ongoing burn treatment. It’s a complex, exhausting road but Tyler is strong, and he is fighting with everything he has.
Tyler tragically lost his mother a few years ago. Since then, his grandparents, Patsy and Doug, have stepped up with love and devotion to raising him. Patsy works full time in customer service and Doug works as a self-employed concrete finisher. Every day spent away from work to be with Tyler means lost income. Income that goes towards everyday essentials like the mortgage, utilities, groceries, and other basic needs. Your support will help relieve that financial pressure, allowing his grandparents to focus fully on what matters most: being by Tyler’s side. Because of the severity of his injuries, Tyler will likely miss the remainder of his Junior year of High School. A portion of the funds raised will also help provide educational support, including tutoring, so he can stay on track academically while he heals.
Tyler is a kind, funny, and adventurous 17-year-old with his whole future ahead of him. He loves playing football, basketball and baseball and spending time outdoors hiking and exploring. This accident may have changed the path he’s on but with your help he doesn't have to walk it alone.
Every donation, share, and message of support gives Tyler and his family the strength and hope they need during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for standing with them.
