What would you do if your child was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness? How would you react if your child was dealing with this disease NOW - when hospitals are limiting access for patients' family members, appointments are few and far between, and income is lost?
Delanie was my VERY first dancer at The DanceRoom. She, and her mom Kim, are the reason for everything in my world. Most importantly, they are responsible for the dance studio hundreds of dancers have called home over the past 15 years. They are the spark that ignited our dance family.
Delanie has been diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a disease that can be serious, and life-threatening. With this disease, the bone marrow does not produce new cells, leaving the body susceptible to bleeding and infection. It has caused other terrible side affects for Delanie that have affected her health and well-being.
Delanie is currently in hospital as a result of complications, and faces regular blood transfusions. She is tentatively booked for a bone marrow transplant. With this, her mom may need to temporarily relocate while Delanie undergoes surgery and is monitored during recovery.
I realize we are all in a difficult situation. We are all experiencing job loss, reduced incomes, depression, and more. But imagine if this was you? Imagine if this was your child?
My hope is the family can use this money to help with gas, accommodations, medical bills, and other expenses needed to overcome this hurdle. I am confident Delanie will see this through with strength and perseverance. Her family has done so much for myself and our dance family, and I ask that you please consider her position and return the favour. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing and spreading the word.
