FGCU Tuition Costs
Hello! My name is Miguel David Guerrero Brito, and I'm determined to make the most of my parents' sacrifice for me and for my brothers. We fled Venezuela three years ago after my mother was brutally attacked and nearly lost her life. Since moving to the US, I've worked hard not only to learn English, but to be an example for my family and community. As a student at South Fort Myers High School, I held leadership roles in JROTC, Student Government, and the National Honor Society, as well as contributed to my community with over one hundred and fifty volunteer hours, while earning a 4.6 GPA. As I move to the next chapter in my life, I've been accepted to the Honors College at Florida Gulf Coast University and will pursue a degree in bioengineering. COVID-19 has delayed my family's court date for asylum multiple times, affecting my ability to qualify for many academic scholarships. I've been working full-time as the youngest member of Arthrex, a biomedical company, since the last semester of my senior year in high school. Yet, it is insufficient to cover all the expenses for the pursuit of my degree. I would like to raise money to pay for some of my college tuition and books. Any amount is welcome because every penny counts.
