Homeless Family of 6

๐Ÿ  Help Our Family of Six Get Back on Our Feet

We never imagined we would be asking for help like this.

We are a family of six who were working hard to build a better future. We had a plan, and we truly believed we were only days away from closing on our new home.

We had done everything we were supposed to do. We had paid our earnest money and deposit and made arrangements based on the belief that our home purchase was moving forward. At the last minute, the sellers backed outโ€”and they are now fighting to keep the earnest money, and downpayment that we desperately need to get back on our feet.

When the home purchase fell apart, so did our housing situation.

๐Ÿ’” We went from preparing to move into our home to facing homelessness.

We are now facing something no family ever expects to face: not knowing where we will sleep next.

We cannot afford approximately $1,300 a week for a hotel or motel while also trying to cover our family's other expenses. We are desperately searching for a safe, stable place for our children while we work through the legal and financial process of recovering the money we believed would be used to secure our home.

We were so close to having a place of our own. We had packed, planned, and made decisions for our family based on the belief that our home purchase was happening.

Then, in what felt like an instant, everything changed.

๐Ÿ’” And this crisis came at the worst possible time.

Shortly before we lost our housing, our son attempted suicide.

Our family has been trying to navigate the emotional aftermath of that devastating experience while also dealing with medical bills, therapy, and the fear and uncertainty surrounding our housing situation.

Our children are hurting. They are trying to process more than any child should have toโ€”and now they are also facing the fear of not knowing where they will live.

As parents, one of the hardest things we have ever experienced is trying to reassure our children that everything will be okay when, honestly, we don't know what tomorrow will bring.

๐Ÿซ We are also fighting to keep their lives from falling apart around them.

Our children are student-athletes, and there are student-athlete fees that need to be paid for them to continue participating in their school sports.

Their sports are more than just an activity. They are part of their school life, their friendships, their routines, and something positive they can hold onto during an incredibly difficult time.

We don't want our children to have to lose another important part of their lives simply because our family experienced a financial crisis that was completely outside of our control.

We are doing everything we can to keep their lives as normal as possible while we work to get our family back on stable ground.

๐Ÿพ We've lost more than a house.

The instability has also affected the animals we love.

Because we haven't had a stable place to keep them, some have had to be rehomed because we simply had nowhere safe for them to go.

Others have sadly passed away.

Those losses have been heartbreaking. They were part of our family, and losing them while we were already dealing with so much has been another devastating blow.

๐Ÿ™ Right now, we need help getting through this emergency.

We aren't asking anyone to fix our entire lives.

We are asking for help getting our family from this crisis to a safe and stable place.

Our immediate needs include:

๐Ÿ  Short-term housing while we find a permanent home

๐Ÿ”‘ Security deposit and first month's rent

๐Ÿ“ฆ Moving and storage expenses

๐Ÿงธ Basic necessities for our children

๐Ÿฅ Medical expenses related to our son's crisis

โค๏ธ Therapy and emotional support for our children

๐Ÿซ Student-athlete and school sports fees so our children don't have to lose another important part of their lives

๐Ÿพ Expenses related to keeping our remaining pets safe and with our family

โค๏ธ Getting our family back to a safe and stable place

Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference.

$10 helps. $25 helps. $50 helps. $100 helps.

Every dollar gets us a little closer to having a roof over our children's heads, paying the expenses that are piling up, and giving our family the chance to breathe again.

And if you aren't able to donate, please share our fundraiser.

A share costs nothing, but it could put our story in front of someone who can help. It could reach someone who knows of affordable housing, a rental opportunity, a community resource, or simply someone who is willing to help a family get through a difficult moment.

โค๏ธ We just want our children to be safe.

We never expected to be here.

We were working. We had a plan. We were preparing for our new home. We believed our children would soon have the stability we had worked so hard to give them.

Instead, we are trying to figure out where our family of six will sleep, how we will pay our immediate expenses, how we will continue paying for our son's medical care and our children's therapy, and how we can keep our children from losing the activities and routines that mean so much to them, and how we are going to continue to afford to house our beloved animals.

We are scared. We are exhausted. We are overwhelmed. But we are not giving up.

We are still fighting for our family.

We are still looking for a home.

We are still doing everything we can to protect our children and keep our family together.

We just need a little help getting there.

If you can donate, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

If you can share, thank you.

If all you can do is read our story and keep our family in your thoughts, thank you.

We never thought we would have to ask for help.

But right now, we need our community.

Thank you for helping our family find our way back to a safe place we can finally call home. โค๏ธ

With gratitude,

A family of six doing our best to find home again.
