Keep Our Wheels Turning
Hey Y'all!
Where do I even start? My name’s Anna, and if you know me, you know I don’t like asking for help. I’ve always prided myself on being independent and finding a way to make things work, no matter how tough life gets. But sometimes, life throws you a curveball that’s just too big to handle alone, and that’s where I find myself now.
For the past several months, I’ve been fighting to keep my van on the road. It’s been my lifeline—my way to work, to school, and to keep life moving forward. But now, it’s broken down completely, and the repair costs are more than I can manage. Replacing it feels like such an impossibility right now, but without it, I’m stuck.
Last June, I took a big step toward building a better future by applying to school to earn my Associate’s Degree. It’s been a dream of mine to create a more stable and fulfilling career, and going back to school was the first step in making that dream a reality. I started my program last August, and while balancing school, work, and life hasn’t been easy, I’ve been determined to make it work.
Right before my first semester started, I lost my job unexpectedly. It was a huge blow, but I didn’t let it stop me. To make ends meet, I started working for third-party delivery services like DoorDash and Instacart. My van became my everything—it wasn’t just a vehicle; it was my way to earn an income, get to classes, and handle everyday tasks like grocery shopping.
But now, my van has broken down completely. The repair costs are overwhelming, and replacing it feels like a distant dream. Without reliable transportation, I’ve been struggling to keep up with deliveries, attend classes, and even get to job interviews. Every day that my van sits in the driveway, broken down, is another day I lose income and fall further behind.
I’ve done everything I can to stay afloat, but this hurdle is just too big to overcome alone. That’s why I’m reaching out for help. I’m raising funds to either repair my van or replace it with something dependable. Every dollar will go directly toward getting me back on the road and back to work. Here’s how the funds will be used:
- Van repairs or replacement: $4,568 (based on parts needed)
- Insurance and registration on replacement: $548
- Lost income: $2,668
This isn’t just about a van—it’s about regaining my independence, stability, and the ability to rebuild my life. My van has been my lifeline, not just for work but for everything else, too. It’s how I’ve been able to deliver food to others, get to classes, and even run errands like grocery shopping. Without it, I feel stuck, unable to move forward or provide for myself.
Going back to school has been a huge part of my plan to create a better future. Since starting my Associate’s Degree program last August, I’ve been working hard to gain the skills and education I need to secure a higher-paying, stable career. I’m excited about this new chapter, but I need reliable transportation to make it all possible. Between attending classes, working delivery jobs, and interviewing for new opportunities, having dependable transport is essential.
I’ve always been someone who works hard and finds a way to make things happen, but this time, I need a little help. Losing my job was a huge blow, but I’ve been doing everything I can to stay afloat. Working for delivery services has been a blessing, but it’s not sustainable without a reliable vehicle.
Your support, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this campaign, means the world to me. With your help, I can get back on the road and back to work. I can continue to deliver orders, attend classes, and take the steps I need to rebuild my life.
I know times are tough for everyone, and asking for help isn’t easy. But I believe in the kindness of others and the power of community. If you’re able to contribute, please know that your generosity will make a real, tangible difference in my life.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any help you can provide. Together, we can get these wheels turning again and help me move forward toward a brighter future.
With gratitude,
Anna
