My death has been greatly exaggerated, as I am currently alive somehow and wanting to make amends and share my story.
During the month of April I found reasons to go the local ER and was admitted multiple times. Alcohol had claimed decades of my life, my friends, and my family. The last week of April going into May is a blur to me and I don't remember much of anything. Even though I hadn't been drinking because of stomach and gut issues, I went to the hospital with massive bleeding. The last thing I remember is being in the ER and then I lost a week where I don't remember anything. The gaps were filled in by family.
My boyfriend had been called to the hospital. He watched me have a seizure and was told to rally the “troops” because I was not expected to survive very much longer. My ex husband and his girlfriend, our three sons, mother, brother, sister-in-law, and a few close friends waited for my father to get to the hospital. The doctors kept me on oxygen and morphine just to keep my husk of a body alive long enough for my father to come and say “goodbye.”

However, God had other plans for me. I awoke, began to thrive and am still recovering. I am home now, but I have a lot of neurovascular issues in my hands and weakness in my legs. The next step is for a rehab facility but substance related treatment is not covered by my insurance. Also certain medications, even with insurance such as Rifaximin used to prevent the brain disorder, hepatic encephalopathy cost over $3600 for the 30 day supply of 60 pills. I may not be able to see my middle son graduate.
I am so sorry I hid this for so long. I am sorry that I hurt the people I said I loved. I should've asked for help a lot sooner. I've been given another chance, but I could use some help. This could be me again and I want it more than anything.

I greatly appreciate all the help from Wesley Long medical staff and it makes me even more proud to be a nurse.
