A dear friend of mine lost his job last year and has been desperately searching for a new one. Prior to that, his car had died, but he was working from home and saving up for a functioning car. He had emergency savings that lasted several months, but they ran dry a few months ago; I have helped to keep him in his apartment while he has continued job hunting and doing some out-of-the-box work to try to earn money (writing, etc.), but his lease changed, and he has been forced to reapply, which is going to cost a couple thousand dollars that neither of us has, on top of owing first, last, and security again, along with additional costs to keep his utilities on. In addition to all of this, he also has some health issues that limit him. I have tried to think of anything and everything I can to not have to set up a fundraiser (for many reasons), but all of this is far more than I can do on my own, and if we cannot find a solution by May 1st, he will be evicted and homeless. He has a young daughter, as well, and she should not have to see her dad homeless...

If you are able and can find it in your heart to help me help my friend get enough money by May 1st, I would be so grateful. The figure I listed is shooting for the stars and includes not only the aforementioned costs to keep him in his apartment, but also money to put toward a second-hand car; I would at the very least like to raise the bare minimum to keep him in his apartment and keep his utilities on, which would be about $8,000.00, but absolutely anything helps.
