Disabled Senior Needs URGENT Stair Lift for Freedom

My Story:

My name is Michelle. I’m a 75‑year‑old woman living in Corona, California, and I suffer from severe osteoarthritis. My condition causes chronic, disabling pain. When it flares, I cannot walk inside my own home. I thank God for IHSS, because without their help I wouldn’t manage daily tasks.

Right now, I am trapped upstairs — a prisoner in my own home. Any time I must use the stairs for something urgent, like a doctor appointment, knee injections, or an X‑ray, the pain afterward is unbearable. I suffer for three days to a full week. It is excruciating.

I need to walk every day to keep my legs strong and live a normal life, but the stairs are my enemy. I stopped going anywhere because of the pain. I am isolated, stuck, and unable to leave my home safely. Outdoor stair lifts are extremely expensive, and I simply cannot afford one. I contacted the Office on Aging hoping for help, but they told me they have no funds.

I live on a fixed retirement income of only $1,336 a month. My home is under a reverse mortgage with no equity, and half of my check goes to HOA fees. I have no husband, no children, and no family here. My siblings overseas are not better off financially. My social circle is very small, and I have no one to rely on.

This is why I am turning to the kindness of people on this platform and social media. Every dollar raised goes directly toward purchasing and installing an outdoor stair lift so I can safely leave my home, walk again, and reclaim my independence. Even a small donation makes a real difference — it brings me one step closer to freedom.
