Usually, these campaigns begin with some kind of heavy emotional appeal to people with sad stories in an attempt to engender sympathy or empathy for whatever cause the fundraiser is trying to support. I will not be doing that today. Instead, I will simply tell you my story, let the facts be the facts, and let you decide if you would like to donate to the cause. Anything you are willing to give, even some pocket change, is greatly appreciated. Here's the scoop.

I am in Anchorage, Alaska, and I work full-time. My girlfriend also lives in Anchorage and works two jobs. Her 2009 Chevy HHR with 140,000 miles on its engine recently broke and is currently parked in her garage, unable to move (picture included). Most shops in the local area are booked several weeks or months in advance, and we are having a difficult time finding a shop to get it in for repair. It has an oil leak and a radiator leak as well. I have been helping out with rides to work, errands around town, etc, but with winter coming on, the vehicle does need to be repaired so that she has a safer alternative mode of transportation. There is an extended warranty on the car, but very few shops will actually take the warranty work for billing. I am asking for $2200 in the campaign to help supplement the repair costs and interim fuel costs until the rig is working again. Even with both of us working, we have only been able to maintain our normal expenses with no extra funds to take it directly to a repair shop and pay out-of-pocket for the repairs. Anything you can spare or are willing to give is a help.
