The Keith C. Miller Award at Carle Place High School
Each year, friends and family of Keith Miler contribute to an award in his memory at Carle Place High School. Keith excelled in running and everything he did and the award is presented to a deserving student so they may run further in life.

About Keith C. Miller
After graduating from CPHS in 1977 and SUNY Plattsburgh in 1981, Keith went to Fordham Law and passed the bar exam. But his life was cut short in a tragic accident. A strong swimmer, Keith enjoyed swimming in the ocean but he became caught in a rip current and did not survive. Besides the memorial award at CPHS, Keith's legacy is also a public service effort to warn of the dangers of rip currents and to promote safe swimming.
