21st Birthday
It is hard to believe that these two LaMonda girls will be celebrating their 21st birthday in just a few days! I still remember the first month living at the hospital's NICU... they were tied up to tubes, monitors and kept in incubators. Ashley born at 3 pounds 3 ounces was so malnourished and her blood so thin that she needed a blood transfusion as soon as she came out. Brook born at 4 pounds got all the nutrients and was the stronger one of the two, but took a turn for the worse when a nurse punctured her heart trying to insert an IV to treat a heart murmur. After a month they assured us they could come home with monitors and we were left in charge. Twins! They kept us in a sleep deprived haze for almost two years but they grew into strong, happy, healthy babies and graduating out of diapers was like hitting the lottery.
With a lot of hard work and help from families, they have grown into beautiful young ladies, almost ready to fly the coop, and even though we tried to treat them as equally as possible, they each have turned in to their very own person, so opposite of eachother in every way. So much so, that Ashley being the sensible one only wants her car fixed for her birthday or money for her new apartment. Brook on the other hand would like to go out drinking and get her first tattoo. So, if you would like to help either one of these girls celebrate their 21st birthday, I say YOLO, party it up and sponsor a round of beer! Sorry Ash! LOL!
