I am starting this campaign for my wonderful husband Michael. We were married September 16, 2011, that's right this September 16th 2021 was our 10 year anniversary!! Unfortunately our 10 year celebration was short lived. On the evening of October 6, 2021 my 31 year old husband had a grandmal seizure. This was the first time I witnessed such a thing, the way his left side of his face looked I honestly thought he was having a stroke. I immediately started to move him towards the bed made it 2 feet and his entire body started to violently seize. We went to the floor I grabbed a pillow and after a minute or so I called the paramedics. Unfortunately I couldn't go in the ambulance with him I had to stay behind with out 9 year old Michael Jr. It devastates me that I wasn't with my husband when he got the most shocking news of our lives after his CT scan. A few hours later Mike called me and said the had found a definitive mass in the front of his brain, a brain tumor he said. I composed myself until getting off the phone and I lost it. My first thought being oh my God my soul mate is going to die. I've never felt fear like that before. Here we are just about a month later and My husband had to quit his job at the prison. I can tell everyday it is killing him that he can't financially provide for us. He became very depressed after getting out of the air force, before starting at the prison. He was working like crazy sometimes 160 hours biweekly at his corrections job and he was so proud of himself and now our lives have reversed further than ever in the opposite direction. The hospital bills are piling up, we have no idea how we are going to pay our rent for December. Our water/gas is due to be shut off in 5 days. I've applied for everything I can, his ssdi and ssi, snap, unemployment and more. Bur the waiting on decisions for all of these things take time. My family can't help they are all poverty stricken. We went to the food bank yesterday. Hopefully his radiation will start within this next month, and once I see how it's affecting him I can hopefully get back to work, but right now between childcare, and appointments, and caring for my boys a full-time job isn't possible for me. I've never done a campaign or anything like this, but I keep praying! I also keep my hope about it me that everything will work out how it should! Thankyou for reading our new normal and God Bless you!!!
