My name is Alex Van Stelle, and I am taking on a challenge to run a 5K every day to raise $5,000 for cancer research and support services. All funds raised will be donated to the HEADstrong Foundation.

The HEADstrong Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2006 by collegiate lacrosse player Nicholas Colleluori after he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The foundation works to ease the emotional, financial, and logistical burdens faced by families affected by cancer. Its programs provide free long-term housing through Nick’s House for families traveling for treatment, financial assistance and essential resources for patients and caregivers, peer mentorship opportunities, and funding for innovative cancer research through the Nicholas E. Colleluori Lymphoma Research Fund.

Through this challenge, I hope to raise awareness, support families battling cancer, and contribute to the important work being done by the HEADstrong Foundation.
