Dandy's Recovery Fund

Friends, I can't say how difficult it is to ask for your support. Unfortunately, it is the only choice I have. My first gall stone attack was on Nov. 27. It put me in the hospital for six hours and in bed for a week. Just as I was getting better, I had a second attack accompanied by a bile duct blockage  that put me in the hospital for emergency surgery, with a full incision,  on Dec. 7. I have been recuperating since then. My first check up last Wed. went well and I see the doctor on Dec. 28. He has said I will likely be allowed "moderate activity" and possibly allowed to drive. I'm not sure whether moderate activity will cover my job, whether "driving" includes a 30 min commute, or what my stamina for working will be. That will mean I've been out of work for a full month and perhaps as much as several weeks more. Believe me I *want* to be up and about again! The bills keep coming in and I had no savings or credit to draw on. I think I will qualify for food stamps and there are charity options to help with utility bills. Unfortunately, the resources I have found don't cover many things like, car insurance, gas (when I can drive), telephone, medications, and miscellaneous expenses. Several friends and family have done what the could and I am so very deeply grateful for their help. However, I desperately need additional assistance. I promise to be as frugal as possible with every dollar. Although I am only asking for what I think is a minimal amount to get me through this, if there is any money left over when I can once again support myself it will be given to charity and all the money I am given will be paid forward to worthy causes as I am able. Words truly cannot express my gratitude for any help you can offer. Dandy
