As a candidate for Executive Vice President of the the largest youth-led, partisan organization in the country, Young Democrats of America, it is important that I travel around the country and meet with Young Dem chapter leaders to learn more about how YDA can help them be more successful at electing Democrats, training young progressives, and advocating on issues impacting young Americans. The money raised from this campaign will go towards helping me cover travel costs such as airfare, hotels, and car rentals.

Our country is in a state of crisis. With the almost daily revelations coming from the White House and the GOP-led Congress, one thing has become evident: this is a crucial time for Young Democrats across the country to stand up and fight back. We need to take back state legislatures, win back the House and the Senate in 2018, and make Donald Trump a one-term President.
As we look forward, YDA needs leaders with the courage of conviction. I have fought a lifelong battle for women and young people here in my home state of Colorado and, for the last two years, across the country as your Vice President. I have served as a local and state chapter president, as a board member of NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado, and as a state government affairs manager for a national organization. Throughout my journey, the valuable experience I have gained has prepared me for this very moment. I am proud to announce my candidacy for Executive Vice President of the Young Democrats of America.
With your help, we have made great progress over the past 18 months, and I believe YDA is ready to go to the next level. With that higher goal in mind, I am running because our organization needs both stability and new ideas. As Vice President, I've been working with the issue advocacy team to make sure the issues important to our generation are not forgotten. In addition, I have been determined to build partnerships, which have amplified our collective voice, raised our profile and brought us to stakeholders' tables.
I am dedicated to being your champion as we move toward the next level. As your EVP, I would work tirelessly to:
- Strengthen newly formed organizational relationships and seek out new allies to ensure that YDA has the influence needed to achieve our goals, including raising funds
- Ensure our issue advocacy program fights Donald Trump's radical agenda, ensures our generation is not left behind, and creates more opportunities for our members to engage
- Increase communication to members, chapter leaders and supporters, thus providing more resources to help elect Democrats, build bigger and stronger chapters, and and fight for good policies
- Work with progressive groups, Democratic organizations, and other allies to ensure they are bringing younger voices to the table
I am honored to join my friend and our YDA President Louis Elrod and the rest of the Young Democrats Forward team at this critical time in our country's history. It is a time for us to continue to fight for the right to choose, the right to love whomever, the right to health care, and the right to vote. A time for Young Dems to make a difference and run for office. And a time for women who, like me, were victims of sexual assault and want to tell their story to be heard.
I have no doubt that we can lead the movement to protect our freedoms and hold Republicans and Democrats alike accountable for policies. We must resist. We must succeed.
