HELP Im about to be homeless a
Please help me to not loose my home. I need a hand up and not a hand out. I am so saddened and scared that I will be put on the streets on the first of December 2016. I have spent the last 11 months saving while i lived with a friend in Kentucky. I worked 7 days a week double shifts at a restaurant, sometimes I worked over 60 days straight without a day off. I worked so hard because prior to that I was homeless for a year and a half with a dog and cat. Sleeping in a shed, the park, a car, a friends backyard and even on the sidewalk in the 100+ degree days in Palm Springs. I spent days trying to keep my animals out of the heat and nights trying to find a place to sleep. I ended up on the streets when my best friend who had lymphoma cancer passed a way and the landlord threw me out the same day. I had been my best friends live in caregiver I didnt recieve any payment, but my rent was paid by his parents. I found a job that allowed my dog and I gave the cat to someone who could care for her. I stayed in hotels when I had enough money. My Dad got cancer and I went to Chicago to take care of him. He went into remission an a friend of mine offered to let me stay with him in Kentucky to get back on my feet. So I stayed for 18 months saving to move back to California to be close to my son, who I have only seen 6 times in the last 15 years. My job was supposed to transfer me to their restaurant here in Palm Springs, but when I got here business was so slow that they couldnt put me on the schedule. For 2 months they kept me waiting. Finally I was supposed to start Nov. 15th. The week before I called and left messages for the general manager, whom I was told was on a 2 week vacation. I never got a call back. I then got an email saying that they were not going to be filling any new positions at this time. Luckily my old boss from my previous job called and asked if I wanted to work for her again. I make $250 a week. The job came to late, I had run through my savings, I have been there 3 and a half weeks and gave $350 towards rent a week ago. Then this week I had my bicycle stolen. I don't own a car and it was my only transportation. I live 19 miles from my job and I ride for an hour and half after 11pm home because the bus stops running at 9:30. If I could just get the rent caught up and my scooter legal to ride, I would be able to get a second job and not worry about the bus schedules and routes. I am a very hard worker, I grew up with horses, that gave me a good work ethic. I have waited tables for 37 years. I am not afraid to work, I want to be self sufficient But I have hit a mountain and i need your help. I realize that I'm requesting help at the last minute and should have sooner. I kept hoping I could somehow make ends meet. But the bicycle getting stolen has put my back up against the wall. I am terrified of becoming homeless again. the streets are very scary. Unfortunately my family is unable to help me and I am turning to the kindness of strangers. I am trying to keep my apartment, which is home for me, my 14 year old dog and my cat. it is $825 a month due on Dec. 1st I still owe $525 for Nov. I need to insure, register and transfer the title on a scooter, which totals out to approximately $325. I also need cat food, kitty litter and dog food, as well as for myself. My cell phone is behind in payments and I owe approximately $185. Its may seem like not much to ask for for some of you, but to me it is having a roof and a bed or being on the streets afraid and desperate again. I want to thank you for your generosity and kindness. Brandynn, Parker(dog) and Moonie (cat)
