Help with Prosthetic Leg!

My name is Don Parvin. Please read through this short story of why I am asking for help with my prosthetic leg and share it if you would like!

June of 2015 I was taken by ambulance from my apartment where I live alone. I woke up and was getting out of bed on that Monday morning so I could get ready to go visit my mom who was in the hospital due to falling and breaking her hip. When I was getting out of bed I fell flat on the floor and hit the bedroom wall so that thankfully alerted my neighbor. My right foot had gone dead overnight and that is why I could not feel it when I tried to get out of bed. The following 10 weeks I went through a below-the-knee amputation and a lot of other procedures that the surgeons used to save my life. I had friends and family that visited me while I was recovering and my mom was wheeled up to my room as soon as she was able. I had a wound vac pump on my leg that was changed 3 times a week at home for the next 8 months but the leg just would not heal so we decided to go ahead and amputate the right knee after this the leg healed pretty quickly. I still live on my own and have adapted fairly well to do housework, shopping and going to the laundry.

I am not unhappy but getting the prosthetic would help with the volunteer work that I do. I am involved with the Clark County Amateur Radio Club and have been for 3 years. The last year and couple of months has been hard because I have not been involved at the level I was before. We do public events that are hard to maneuver a wheelchair and hard to get to. I was walking 5-7 miles almost everyday due to the fact I do not drive and I use public transportation.

The money raised will be used to pay for copay of the leg and physical therapy to learn how to walk again and strengthen my body.

This is A picture of the prototype of my leg and I was up walking on it Friday!
