Helping Veterans Get Lines Wet
My name is Jeremiah Dee and I am a disabled veteran that discovered a loves for kayak fishing all thanks to a non-profit organization that has truly changed my life, Heroes on the Water. Over the past seven years, I, along with countless others, have been blessed in so many ways by . At first, I was a general participant at Heroes on the Water events. Now I am on the leadership team and a spokesperson for the cause due to the amazing work this organization does for veterans like me on a daily basis. I recently was afforded the chance to be a veteran participant in the 2017 YakAttack Benefit Tournament near Green Bay, Virginia. For me to be able attend this event, I must be able to cover my travel expenses to and from the tournament which I estimate to be $800. Additionally, I would like to raise money for one of the newest Heroes on the Water chapters in Fort Worth, Texas. My goal for this new chapter is $2,502. This number represents a dollar for each mile I will drive to the tournament for a total of 2,502 miles round-trip. For both, I am hoping to raise at least $3,302 to meet my goal. However, I feel that with my friends, family, and fellow kayakers, I could not only reach my goal, but possibly raise enough to achieve the two dollar a mile amount of $5,804! Thank you all for your support and generosity.
