Nathan's mission fund

Hey guys! I am Dreah Dearing. My brother, Nathan Marble, is 17. He has chosen to serve a mission for the LDS church once he turns 18. All of the funding for this is coming straight out of his pocket. I would like to help him with this huge expense. Please share the news so we can raise as much as possible for him. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

This was a surprise, but he knows about it now so please feel free to share your heart out!

I have also extended the deadline so we can continue to help him up until he leaves!

What is a mission?

For an LDS mission, volunteers are sent out for 2 years. The leader of the church chooses where they will go. They serve and spread the gospel. They work very hard and have no time for themselves. They are allowed to email or write letters once a week. They can skype or call home only twice a year. They are away from family, friends, homes, and many luxuries. Yet, my sweet brother has made this selfless decision.

A little bit about Nathan

Nathan is a senior in high school and will graduate in May. He turns 18 in July and can leave for his mission as soon as June. He is a very sweet, kind, good boy. He is also very talented (he drew the self portrait I used as the photo.) He currently works very hard, but has a minimum wage job. He saves 80% of all his income for his mission. Another 10% he donates to our church. Only 10% he keeps for himself. He has saved some, but is nowhere near where he needs to be.

Missions cost a minimum of around $10,000. This can increase depending on where you serve. This barely covers their rent, food, and basic necessities to live. This does not include the suits, clothes, and shoes he will need. Nor does it include any other necessities during the 2 years. I would like to send him with some extra so that he may be able to afford his luggage, travel, and all other expenses.

I know many of you may not believe what our church teaches or have different thoughts about missions, but please do this for Nathan. He is incredibly selfless and just an amazing kid. It amazes me that he only spends 10% of his income. Please help me help him and make his goal a reality!
