Hi, my name is Jessie. I was able to escape an abusive relationship in 2014 with the help of some friends. However, even though I have come so far, I have not been able to remove my three-year-old daughter from the same situation. Unfortunately, her father is extremely manipulative and was able to obtain partial custody that allowed him and his son, my daughter's older half-brother, to abuse my daughter mentally, physically, and sexually. With the help of friends, family, and my community, I have successfully obtained a two-year protective order for her. Nonetheless, the custody battle for my little one is beginning again.
