Vietnam Flood Relief Fund
With the election over, let's move on to real world problems. As you may remember, 3 weeks ago central Vietnam suffered extensive flooding with deaths and damages reaching historic levels. Things have gotten worse since.
Please consider donating to the Vietnam Flood Relief Fund. All proceeds will be sent to on-the-ground aids organization(s). We will share on FB the amount and organization(s) receiving the funding.
Nov 7 - a new flood tore through the same area, causing 15 additional deaths and flooding thousands of homes.

In the grand global scheme, Vietnam is a poor country. And one of the most remote and neglected of the areas of the country is suffering from an historic flood. To give you a sense of the scope of the flood, houses and churches are almost completely underwater. The forecast is for rain straight to Fri Oct 27th.
31 people have died and more could follow as a result of shortage of food and clean drinking water. Starvation and dehydration are now major problems. Relief agencies are under staffed and under equipped. With your help, I hope to help them however I can.
The money will be wired to a number of Vietnamese relief groups with boots on the ground helping the most helpless. They will use the money primarily for food and water. These Vietnamese agencies do NOT have US non-profit status so they can't provide US donors with proper tax receipt. This inability to get tax benefits seems to deter donors. Ironically, the groups with the greatest ability to positively impact the situation are the groups getting the least donations.
