helllooooo! friends, family, friends of the family (who are more often than not considered family), co-workers, mindfulness/self-love enthusiasts, hello! :) 

my name is ariana gleckman and i am writing to you today with eagerness, excitement, joy, gratitude, love, and OMGshness! while doing some research at school earlier this week, i came across the website for the "world happiness summit 2017" that is taking place on may 17-19th this march (AKA during my spring break). 

i'm sitting up at a desk while in the engineering department of iupui and immediately hear myself blurb out loud, "OH MY GOSH YOU ARE KIDDING ME!" 

... rewind to five minutes prior to my world happiness spring break alternative realization, i was emailing shawn achor (positive psychology guru and tedxbloomington keynote speaker) about how i would love to interview him for my blog and share his ideas with my friends and family. 

and then i find myself sitting there - looking at the agenda for the summit, and guess who's name pops up directly under the screen for keynote speakers? FREAKING SHAWN ACHOR. 

my adrenaline rushes, heartbeat now racing about 8,000 miles a minute, and i finally take a moment to just sit back and breatheeeeeee for a moment. 

"this is it." i say to myself. THIS IS FREAKING IT! i have to go. i have to do everything in my power to conjure up every single resource in my mind/body/and soul to figure out how to attend this summit. i have to go.

unbeknownst, i am a college student. i'm not rolling in the benjamin's just quite yet - but am working my way up each and every day (:

my parents are exceptionally supportive and always do what they can to help provide both myself (and my brother and sister) the resources and opportunities to fulfill our goals, experience life, and cultivate our passions. with that being said, i'm already on trip #3 for this year and its only february. needless to say, i and shortly but surely running out of ferris buller day's off speeches to try and convince mom and dad to invest in my crazy rockstar OMG i'm taking over the world endeavors. 

which leads me to my final point - and the reason for creating this website. any help - and i mean ANY help financially - would rock the socks off of my feet for this trip. i'll be needing money for the convention pass, a hotel for a few nights, food while i'm there, and airfare.

the convention pass according to the website is currently 160.00 for a two-day student pass.

airfare going to/from miami is looking to be about 300.00 for a roundtrip.

the hotels (as suggested by the website) are super beautiful and lovely and conveniently located near the convention and will likely end up costing roughly 450-500 for the duration of the convention. 

and food and other expenses will likely cost around 200. 

ps. i may or may not be attending with one of my best women friends in the universe - which would be AHHMAAZING! but we are still figuring out those details. will keep you updated if that is the case (: moreover, the hotel would cover her as well - which would be a blessing and amazing! 

life is freaking amazing. and i am blessed and privileged and amazed on a daily basis at the opportunities i have and the love that surrounds me. i will be graduating in the following months and am not quite sure what to do with my life following that. 

i wholeheartedly think this experience could significantly broaden my horizon to the possibilities of future careers and opportunities. 

so please! help me help me, and by default - help the world. because as we know, it only takes one person to cause the ripple effect.
