A Bench For Eli
Donations to this fund will be used towards a memorial park bench in Arlington, Texas for Eliseo “Eli” Bondoc (May 1986 – Oct 2025), as well as a small donation to The Trevor Project.
Eli was the very first friend I made when I moved to Arlington. He was still the emergency contact in my phone’s SOS features when I learned he had died.
Eli spent most of his life in the service of others. He was a Navy veteran, a submariner. Later, a case manager at a non-profit helping homeless veterans. Then, an investigator for child protective services. When I met him, he had moved back to non-profit work, helping HIV-positive homeless people get access to life-saving medication.
He was generous with his time, a good listener, and a patient friend. We spent hours together on my couch, just playing video games or watching TV. He always had me pick what we watched or played next, even when I insisted it was his turn.
He gave so much to the world, but asked for so little. So, please give me some money so I can buy a park bench and put his name on it.
