I never imagined I would find myself in a place where I would have to ask strangers for help, but right now, I’m struggling to make it through each day and I honestly don’t know where else to turn.

I’m currently unemployed and have very little money. My EBT benefits are running out, and the utility assistance I’ve been relying on for my electric and gas will soon be gone. I also don’t have a reliable phone that works without Wi-Fi, no car, no bike, and right now I don’t even have enough money for a bus pass to get around and apply for jobs.

I’ve been trying to find a way forward, but it has been incredibly difficult. I also struggle with depression and panic attacks, which can make everyday things and keeping a job much harder than people may realize. I’m not looking for sympathy—I’m asking for a little breathing room so I can get myself back to a stable place.

I lost my mom, and being an only child, I don’t have family I can turn to when things get this difficult. There isn’t really a safety net waiting for me, and that has made this chapter especially scary and lonely.

My goal isn’t to stay dependent on anyone. I want to work. I want to get stable. I want to be able to take care of myself again. I just need some help getting over this difficult stretch so I can have a real chance at starting over.

Any amount, no matter how small, would mean more to me than I can put into words. Help with food, transportation, utilities, a working phone, and basic necessities would give me the ability to focus on finding employment and rebuilding my life.
