A Chance…

Hi, my name is April, but most know me as Chicky!

A Prayer, A Path, and a Place to Call Home

To Any Business, Organization, Church, Community Leader, or Kindhearted Individual,

My name is Chicken, and I am reaching out with humility, faith, and hope to ask for your consideration, prayers, and assistance.

Over the last few years, life has brought challenges that I never imagined I would face. While I was incarcerated, both of my parents passed away. Since my release, I have had to navigate life without the support of immediate family, as I am estranged from my relatives and have no meaningful communication with them. The loss of my parents, combined with rebuilding my life, has been one of the most difficult journeys I have ever experienced.

Recently, I was diagnosed with HIV. While modern medicine has made treatment possible, the diagnosis has been mentally, emotionally, and physically taxing at times. There have been days when fear, uncertainty, exhaustion, and loneliness felt overwhelming. Yet through every difficult moment, my faith in Jesus Christ has kept a flicker of hope alive within me. Even when I felt as though darkness had become the permanent backdrop of my story, God continued to remind me that my story is not finished.

Today, I work part-time while managing my health and rebuilding my life. Some days my energy is limited, and the physical and emotional challenges can be difficult to overcome. Despite these obstacles, I remain determined to move forward and create something meaningful from my experiences.

My dream is to establish a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by HIV and AIDS. I want to create a resource network that connects people with food assistance, medical care, housing resources, mental health support, community events, educational information, and organizations willing to help those in need. Most importantly, I want no one facing this diagnosis to feel alone. Sometimes people simply need a friend to talk to, someone who understands, and a reminder that their life still has purpose and value.

I am currently writing my testimony and life story with the hope that it will inspire others who are struggling with addiction, incarceration, homelessness, grief, illness, or hopelessness. My goal is to share my journey through speaking engagements, community outreach, churches, and events across the country to encourage others that there is life after hardship and hope after despair.

At this time, I am seeking assistance with stable housing and transportation. Specifically, I am hoping for the donation of:

• A camper, RV, travel trailer, tiny home, or small home where I can live safely and maintain a clean and stable environment while managing my health.

• A reliable vehicle that would allow me to travel to work, attend medical appointments, and eventually share my testimony and outreach efforts with communities across the nation.

Having a safe place to call home would provide the stability necessary for me to continue healing, working, serving others, and building the nonprofit vision that God has placed on my heart.

More than anything, I am asking for prayer and a path forward. I truly believe that every life matters. If I can help save even one person from giving up hope, then every struggle I have endured will have been worth it.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Whether you can help through a donation, a connection, a prayer, or simply by sharing this request with others, I am deeply grateful for your kindness and consideration.

May God bless you abundantly for your compassion and generosity.

Sincerely,

Chicky
