Hello, all - as most of you know, I recently relocated from Colorado Springs to Minneapolis. Three blocks from where I am newly rooted, a terrible act of violence occurred when Renee Good was murdered. What is now a national conversation has been the ongoing daily life of migrants in my neighborhood. I am specifically in direct relationship with someone whose partner was kidnapped and taken out of state, leaving their income decimated. They are currently struggling to pay rent while also trying to hire an immigration lawyer to help their loved one return safely home, all against a backdrop of very real terror as they have to choose between putting their lives on the line to go to work or sheltering in place.

To protect their identities at this tenuous time, I am routing donations through me but I am willing and able to make all of the finances transparent as we navigate this time together. If you need references re: my character and role in social movements, I'm happy to provide those, too. Money in excess of the goal will directed toward other migrant families in similar situations. My neighbor is in contact with many in her community facing the same crises and impossible choices.
