My name is Iviana Lopez I am currently a junior studying Communication Sciences and Disorders at Sacramento state. I hope to become a speech pathologist one day. I am currently a full time student and I currently work for boys and girls club working at am amazing middle school. I have been accepted to do therapy abroad in the Dominican Republic, it is a big learning opportunity to learn from many professionals. I will have the chance to learn from SLPs, OT's PT's SW's and MD's. Not only that, with this experience I will be able to improve my Spanish communication skills so that I can reach so many more individuals. I would get to receive hands on experience helping and providing services throughout the country. I love working with kids and this opportunity can open doors for me to learn and help gain experience to help so many more now and in my future. It's a two week trip to learn, observe and help many families. I will get to learn and help in local schools and homes during this trip. I just wanted to reach out to anyone for any help that they can so I can get a chance at this amazing experience to help others this coming summer.
