Upon meeting my friend you would be captivated by their smile and they can instantly remove any tension with their wonderful sense of humor. They love animals and have the biggest kindest heart of anyone I know. Their compassion for others and personal integrity are just two highlights of their amazing character. From the outside you wouldn't ever know they faces chronic pain every day that sometimes makes it impossible to leave their home for days. 

They suffer from osteoporosis and osteoarthritis caused by a medical condition when they were a child and because this was not rectified at an early age they have been suffering from the consequences all of their life. They have had to take supplemental hormones and other medication on a daily basis in an attempt to help their body function normally. They also suffer anxiety and depression from trying to figure out what their future will be like as the pain has started to impact so many areas of their life.

They have been unable to work for sometime because of the pain which makes it difficult to sit, stand or even walk around at times. Employers require and value the attendance of their employees so when someone is unable to make it to or stay at work then they find themselves unemployed. In order to survive and pay the bills they try to go to auctions where they can buy things cheap and then resell for a small profit however that is becoming increasingly more difficult.

For over a year they had been preparing for an opportunity to plead their case to an administrative law judge in a disability hearing. Finally on March 27th 2019, after many months of waiting, their day in “court” finally came. They were hopeful that the huge weight they carry around wondering if they will be able to keep their home, pay their bills or buy food would be lifted but we had to wait up to two months for the courts decision. However those hopes were dashed by the mailman on April 29th, 2019 when the disability denial letter came.

They have met with their disability attorney and it was decided that the case was strong enough to try for an appeal. However if you are not familiar with the disability process it is not a speedy one. It can take months and up to a year to get an appeal decision. During this time you still have try to survive. Some people can rely on their immediate family, others have good friends, some have to rely on the goodness of strangers and sadly others don't have any assistance at all.  

To ask for help or need assistance from someone is not something my friend is comfortable doing. They have always been self sufficient and even lent help to others during their life. They don't want to have to rely on others and are hopeful that their disability appeal will be granted so that they will at least have the security of a steady monthly income. Again that decision could take as long as a year to be made so my friend has had to swallow their pride and accept help from others.

That is how this campaign has come about and what you can do if you feel inclined to. You see I too do not enjoy asking for help but I know I cannot do this alone. The amount I am hoping to raise $6000 which is $500 per month that my friend is able to get by on for a year to pay their bills and live on. That is not taking into account any emergencies that might come up or other one time expenditures like insurance or taxes. If I can raise enough to get through each month I will figure those out when they come due.

What can you do? Again if you are able and feel the desire to help me help my friend you can donate, any amount no matter how small adds up and will be greatly appreciated I can assure you. If you are or aren't donating perhaps you could share my campaign with your friends, maybe you know a few kind and giving people that would like to help. Lastly if there are any other suggestions or avenues that you would like to share with me PLEASE FEEL FREE...I am open to any and all of them.
