I am not usually one to ask for help, but am way more willing when it is for someone else.

My mother's best friend, Donna Gramling, has had a lot of personal tragedy (Lost her husband and one of her sons in a short span) and health problems in the past few years and her loyal companion Nook has kept her sane and smiling through it all.

He recently managed to mess up his knee in usual dog fashion (too much jumping and rambunctiousness) and now is in a lot of pain. He needs surgery to repair and stabilize the knee so that these two can continue keeping each other company.

She is, of course, willing to do whatever she has to to get him well. Which I am afraid will include going without essentials and screwing up her already precarious financial situation that we have barely managed to keep going since her husband's death.

Please help if you can to raise funds to get Nook his surgery and keep this old woman and her furever friend going.

He has many great years left to live, and she just really needs him to be okay.
