A Mothers Plea for Help
Hi! My name is Jennifer, a single mother of two extraordinary daughters, Joy and Faith. First and foremost, I want to thank each and every person who has taken the time to even open this request to my plea for financial help. I truly do appreciate your time! Next, I would like to give a brief history of how and why I am even on Freefunding, following up on what your generosity would mean to and do for my family!
As previously stated, I am a single mother of two beautiful girls Joy and Faith, and they are solely the reason I am here today sharing my life and time of need.! I have always been able to provide for my family, although times got hard, I pushed through and persevered. I decided to return to school to complete my degree in Psychology while holding a full-time job until I graduated with my BS. I quickly scored a job working as a Behavioral Therapist, even though the position required me to commute a significant distance away from my home and girls, ultimately requiring the support and assistance of my parents with the girls. My mother was there to help day in and day out without hesitation, which I am forever grateful for! This was the routine until life dealt my family a new set of cards that were unexpected as well as life altering at a rapid pace. My grandmother, who had stage four colon cancer, could no longer care for or live by herself due to the effects of the cancer taking over her body, and ultimately her motor and mental abilities, which led my parents to move her\in with us so my mother could provide the care my Nana now needed, while still tending to my children's daily routine and schedules without fail. This carried on for well over a year, until my mother fell ill and went to the doctors. She was also diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer, resulting in her need for emergency surgery, however. my mother kept her results hidden from everyone, only telling my father the entirety of her situation a day before her surgery.
Due to the sudden shift in the household dynamics, I had to step away from my job in order to provide 24 hour care for not only my Nana, but my mother as well, also reclaiming my motherly responsibilities for my girls. A week after my mother returned home from surgery my father, who is a pastor, was getting ready for church on Sunday morning when my mother screamed out in terror for us to come assist my father. She stated she believed my father had just had a stroke in front of her. Our fears were confirmed by the doctors; my father had multiple strokes and had lost all mobility and functioning on his right side. Two weeks later my Nana passed away--another traumatic experience within six months!
Fast forward six more months, my disabled father is finally home, and my mother decides to share with my siblings and I her diagnosis. We agree chemotherapy is the option we would like her to try, which she does. It was a long and trying journey for all, but we made it thorough, and my mother was told she was cancer free. Tears of joy, relief and thanks! A few months later my mother starts to become under the weather often, is very weak, and starting to lose her memory and balance. After a week of hospitalization and test our family was given news I do not wish on any other family ..... the test results showed and confirmed my mother had 30 plus tumors located on her brain, giving her six months at best to live, and there was nothing they could do but keep her comfortable during the transition. DEVASTATION! My mother passed three months later, making life less than unbearable for me to deal with on so many levels!!
Deep depression is what consumed me and i was unable to return to work Now that I have learned to process and cope with my grief I am doing much better, however I have not been able to return work, as my life has been consumed with the priority of my girls and their very busy and fluctuating schedules and commitments. I have depleted my savings account, and am literally living day by day at times for any type of financial relief. My oldest, Joy, just turned 17 on Christmas day, and I was planning on giving her my car, however it has been sitting for over a year and a half, and needs an extensive deep makeover because of mold before I can bless her with it, as well as get it registered. We were not able to celebrate the traditional Christmas, as my finances did not permit. I thank God for the understanding of my girls, however, I could see and feel their disappointment, especially from Joy, whom is an honor student in NHS, CSF, honors classes, as well as being enrolled in the duel enrollment courses at the junior college.
So, it would be a true blessing to receive any donation you'd like to gift my family with to provide a reliable car with insurance for Joy, as this would allow her to assist me with driving her little sister and self to school! Having this assistance would allow me to get back in the market for employment without restrictions or conflict, allowing me to start rebuilding my life. Your donation would also help me to give my father some financial relief with the house bills, as we still live with him. He is deserving of the financial support I have not been able to give him!
Again, I thank you for taking the time to invest in reading my story, as well as contributing to relieving my family's financial needs. You're amazing!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Adams
