A motorized chair for Joel
Update: the person at numotion originally said it would be around 20K for the chair but with everything Joel needs it is closer to 30k. Lisa was very upset at the miscommunication and is trying to see if there is another company that may cost less. She did not want me to increase the goal as she did not want people to think she was trying to get extra money. But I can't let her stress this, therefore I have increased the goal to 30k so the fundraiser doesn't close out. As close as we can get to that, the better. If anyone has any questions or suggestions, message me.
My dear friends Joel and Lisa have suffered a great tragedy. For those that don't know, Joel was shot in the neck on his property by a 15 year old who was told to leave. This happened in February of this year. Joel was left paralyzed, a quadriplegic. He was hospitalized from the time of the incident until just recently. Joel and Lisa are now staying with friends that have opened their home and made changes so that it is more handicap accessible, while Joel and Lisa await the funds needed to build their own accessible home. This fundraiser is for the special chair that Joel needs to be mobile, to go to doctor appointments, to be able to go outside. With his condition, this cannot be a regular electric chair. Joel has been fitted for one especially for him and that has all of the necessary tools for him. The cost is astronomical and they had no insurance and Joel was the sole breadwinner. With Lisa having to get private insurance and cover the cost of his medical supplies and medications, the funds received previously are just not enough for the chair and ongoing medical. Please help us reach our goal and get Joel the chair he so desperately needs. Thank you for all of the love and support. It makes such a difference and the family is humbled by each and every one of you. ❤️
