A New Life
I have End Stage Renal Disease and am in need of a kidney transplant to have a better quality of life and live a healthier life. The last six years have consisted of dialysis, being on a transplant list, and I have undergone multiple surgeries for dialysis access. I am asking for family and friends to join me in fundraising for me to help with critical expenses I will face immediately after surgery, including medications, co-pay's, deductibles, and travel.
I currently work full time as a Surgical Technician in labor and delivery, in which I have never allowed my health challenges to get in the way of my responsibilities at work and even being the primary provider for my three children, all while doing dialysis three days a week for 3.5 hours. Being positive through this entire experience has gotten me this far. Although I have health insurance, surprisingly many transplant expenses are not covered, such as monthly anti-rejection medications that it is needed to take for the life of my new kidney and research shows the anticipated price is between $200-$2,000 per month for medication alone.
For the reasons above, donations will help ease the financial burden of a transplant, which will allow me to focus on a healthy recovery after transplant and a long life ahead with my three children.
