For years our community friend Pam R. has provided so many blessings to individuals and families in Lake County unknown to those she helped that she herself was in despair. After losing her live in mother several years ago she fell into despair emotionally and physically. She has had life long health conditions that restrict her from doing things most people do to care for their homes and her finances have never been abundant. She became very depressed hiding from the public eye and her home became a very unhealthy and dangerous place to reside. With everything from water damage throughout the homes floors, damage to pipes limiting water use and showers, unable to clean properly a mess piled up creating a problem with insects, slipping and falling, rodents have damaged the central AC, storms have caused damage to appliances including kitchen appliances and her washer and we believe plumbing from the large tree roots located behind her home. Over the past year and a half she has suffered multiple heart attacks and a stroke making it almost impossible to do anything requiring bending over or lifting. She has been in and out of the hospital. She is unable to afford assisted living so myself and a friend have been emptying her home and making it as safe and comfortable as possible to allow her to remain at home. She is still young but her conditions have put her body into fight or flight mode and every day is a constant battle. Living on social security she has $0 left after her monthly lot rent and Medicare costs. She has thankfully allowed us into her home and given us 100% permission to remove anything and everything to repair the home so it is safe and sanitary for her to heal and continue aging in. We need the professional help of pest control, general contractors to remove and replace sub flooring and top flooring, repair plumbing, and replace appliances such as her fridge and freezer, oven, and washer as immediate needs. She needs a safe working shower and we are hoping to turn her family room into a resting space that she can welcome her home health care team and guests into when visiting. She uses a walker currently and needs safe walking grounds to maneuver throughout her home. We believe the mold from the water damage is creating a lot of her current health issues and it needs to be removed as soon as possible! Donations will go towards all of the much needed home repairs & replacements to help Ms. Pam live a safe and sanitary life in the home and neighborhood she loves. ❤️ Ms. Pam has been a member of the Lake County Facebook page Stand Up to Stand Out that helps families and individuals in need for over 10 yrs and it is now her time to allow others to be her helping hand!! Many people have already donated cleaning supplies and gear to get us to the point we are at now and we are so thankful to have such kind and amazing people bless her and the work we are doing to bring her some joy!!
