Since Zachary doesn’t really care for traditional gifts and the like, I am starting a go fund me for him to get an adaptive vehicle. One of his fav things is car rides, but since he is now ginormous, it is no longer safe to be lifting in and out of our truck which is the only vehicle that we were able to get him in previously, and he has outgrown the adaptive car seat. At this point, the only car rides he gets to take are to appointments and to school, and I feel like that’s kind of a bummer.

Additionally, the stress of scheduling rides for appointments and having to rely on others to get him to appointments is giving mama gray hairs, and if anything were to happen in an emergency requiring evacuation, there is no safe and reliable way to transport him other than lying him on the floor of the truck in all likelihood.

A large portion of the vehicle will be covered by the regional center for the conversion if we can get it done before he’s 18 (he turned 16 today). We will of course be covering most of it, but these days, the vehicles are costing in the neighborhood of $50-70K! I am putting the total for his fundraiser as the vehicle cost while hoping we can raise enough for a decent down payment. If any family or friends want to give to help this boy get some freedom, it would be for birthdays, Christmas, etc. since he doesn’t do normal presents. 🥰
