This is Eden. She is Camille's second cousin and we, the Hauffe's, are adopting her. Even before God called us to marriage, God put on our hearts the power of adoption. In both my wife and I's lives, we have seen how much lives change over the obedience of God's command to protect the orphan. Though Eden may technically have a mother and father, her placement into the foster system by CPS demonstrates how truly alone she was. But God allowed us this wonderful opportunity to love her. Her heavenly Father did not abandon her and neither will we. There are many hurdles we will have to overcome to be able to complete this process, however. Eden currently resides in California, so to make sure her transition is as easy as possible, we have been flying out to visit her and speak to authorities in person once per month. In addition, since we are living in Texas, our paperwork to adopt her has nearly doubled. Having to interact with 2 states prolongs the process and means we will have many more trips to pay for before she is finally home with us.
