Adrien's Loving Care Club

(español abajo)

Hello Everyone,

Here's a little story about Adrien...

Adrien came into our world on February 18th, 2021 in Saint Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick,NJ and for his first few minutes was not breathing. The doctors and nurses got his breathing under control.

As that is happening we notice now that he was born with 6 fingers on each hand and 7 toes on each foot. this is called Polydactyly. He will be starting a surgery on that in March/April 2022.

After they got him stable and are running more tests they notice persistent direct hyperbilirubinemia, and find out he has Biliary Atresia. He has had the Kasai Procedure in April of 2021 to help correct the issue and was successful.

He sees a few doctors in New Jersey at Saint Peter's and at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. We make the trip to CHOP regularly for checkups.

Doctors have told us at some point in his life he will need a liver transplant. As a family we are working together so our little one can have a normal life.

He is an adorable boy who went through a lot for his age and every day shows us in his innocent ways just how strong he is.

After visiting the cardiologist in June 2021, Adrien was diagnosed with Transitional common AV Canal for which he will require another surgery between 2 and 4 years of age.

During the course of 2021 Adrien was subjected to numerous tests suggested by the Department of Genetics due to the Polydactyly.

To summarize our Adrien will need to start this year with:

1. Regular visits to closely monitor his liver function.

2. Reconstructive surgery for polydactyly.

3. Corrective surgery to close the small open hole in his heart that should have been closed at birth (transitional AV canal)

This is an attempt to raise funds to help us lessen his doctor bills and our travel expenses.

We are extremely grateful to those who have helped us out thus far!

(Also see after the Spanish part for more photos of our little miracle)

Thank you!!!

¡¡¡Gracias!!!
