Ainsley and Princess to Italy
Ainsley Suskey is a 16 year old rider from Iola, Wisconsin who has been competing in endurance since the age of 6. This year Ainsley was selected to be part of the United States Equestrian team competing at the 2017 FEI World Endurance Championships for Young Riders and Juniors in Verona, Italy September 22-24.
Ainsley qualified to compete with Princess Deelites MHF, owned by Julie Jackson-Biegert at Run Along Farms in Florida. Qualifying to be a part of this was a long process requiring entry into several FEI (international) level endurance rides, which required a lot of time and travel. Ainsley has demonstrated her commitment to the sport by participating in FEI events every opportunity she could, on her own mare and horses belonging to others - while also competing locally and maintaining a 3.7 GPA despite missing a lot of school to attend events.
The cost of shipping a horse to Italy is $16,000 round trip, and the process of shipping will take about month including quarantines! Each US rider is responsible for shipping their own horse. Funds raised will be applied to the round trip costs for sending Princess from Florida to Verona, Italy, and travel expenses for Ainsley.
