Thank you for taking the time to hear about our new ride-sharing app called Harambee. My name is Sarah Guerra, and I am here to tell you about our company's vision, mission, and plans for the future. You may wonder, Al Harambee ? Well, growing up my siblings & I attended a faith based program called Al Harambee. It was a safe space for us & others to congregate to in our roughly neighborhood after school hours, as well as a place of peace when home sometimes wasn't.

In 2021, I was going through a struggle of my own, a lack of a support system, when I was contemplating to start this project. I witnessed tired looking mothers rushing & bumming through morning traffic to meet their children's needs. I seen neighbors riding Ubers early morning just to take their kids to school. I myself have had to do the same & at that time , I thought, “ if only someone reliable could help alleviate the responsibility?”. I then thought, a ride share hub specialized for kids would be a brilliant option. While I was in the process of coming up with its name, I was on the phone with my sister, we discussed the safe space we had growing up, Al Harambee. I dug deeper into its origins & I came to find the word is Swahili for “all pull together”, and it is the official motto of Kenya. Remembering that of my own family origins, through genealogical facts, it's also fact that my family shares Kenyan ancestry, & thus made the decision on the matter more compelling. When younger, it was our community coming together to make a better life for us that helped shape our future. In turn, it made sense for it to be called, Al Harambee.

Through this fundraiser, with the help of you, & the community we will work to build the bridge to a promising future. This will be a revolutionary change for the current & future generations to have a community that pulls together to ensure their success, as well as providing relief to the families in need.
