Alina was mauled the other night in an unprovoked attack by a dog that was placed in my care temporarily. All had been fine the last few weeks and it is being considered this dog may have acted in a sleep related aggressive way. Alina is home and in the process of recovering from the large bite wounds she sustained. Daily bandage changes will continue of the largest wound of the neck and if healing resumes well the wound will be closed up in about a week. This incident impacts us greatly as Alina and I go to work together and she is always by my side. For those of you who have had the honor to know the sweet and gentle soul that she is I am asking for help with her continued care. All donations will be direct for veterinary and care related costs for her during this time. Anything helps right now if you would like to donate. This healing process will take time and I pray will not be met with further obstacle for her. Alina is not only my soul dog, she was adopted through Friends of Retired Greyhounds, she is a friend to many, part of a family, a longtime store dog @shinepetfood and a store dog of many other jobs I have held over the years.
