Last Friday, January 10th, Allison and Kirill's apartment caught on fire. It originated from the dryer and quickly engulfed the basement in flames, setting the electrical panels, PVC drains and other plumbing on fire. Luckily, Allison was able to get all of the tenants out of the building. Although, their things were not burned directly, there is smoke and chemical damage. Allison is 9 months pregnant and had spent months buying things and prepping for the baby. The landlord has decided to sell the building and has essentially evicted all the tenants, likely from the several code violations. Allison is devestated at the loss and desperate to set up a safe place to bring home their baby boy. We are having a baby shower in February, but most of their furniture is not salvageable and needs to be replaced. We are doing what we can but need help getting them re-established in time for the baby. We also need help cleaning what can be saved, since its a whole lot of work for the last trimester.
