We are Sarah & Guillermo, an international couple with entrepreneurial minds looking to build an environmentally friendly fly-fishing lodge in a breathtaking and remote part of Patagonia, Chile.

Sarah comes from the States and Guillermo comes from Chile, but we met at the University of Passau, Germany. Sarah has a B.A. in International Management and Guillermo has a B.Sc. in Economics and a M.A. in Latin American Studies. After six lovely years in Germany, we made the big move back to the new continent and we now want to combine our international knowledge to build our Alpine Lodge in a region known for fly-fishing due to its pristine waters and abundance of natural beauty.

Right now, the land that we own (94 hectares/ 232 acres) is located across the Palena river with 2.2 km/1.36 miles waterfront access. However, due to its absolute remoteness and without any bridge nearby, we require a boat to get across. The land itself is also almost completely covered in forests that are overgrown and untouched on steep hills. However, we have surveyed the land and found one clearing where it would be ideal to build. Since it's already relatively clear, we would be able to build the lodge quicker there while also keeping the adjacent forest intact. The only problem is: we have very little money to fulfill this dream! That's why we need your help.

• First, we need a boat to cross materials and ourselves to the land.

• Second, we need a sawmill and other machinery to salvage the still solid logs that have fallen throughout the forest and repurpose them for constructing parts of the lodge and furniture.

• Third, we need a concrete foundation to build the lodge upon for guests.

With at least these 3 things, we would be able to build the foundation (literally) enough to then achieve our dream of inviting people from all around the world to immerse themselves in the absolute tranquility that exists here in Patagonia. The problems and stress of the modern world seem to fade away here and we would love to share this beautiful sanctuary with you.

Rewards:

Anything that you donate will be put towards your future reservation with us. Reservations will be made on a first come first served basis. Rates are per person and based on double occupancy with a guide:angler ratio of 1:2. (Expected starting date from November 2022).
