Support Michael’s Journey to Answers and Healing

For nearly two years, Michael Macedo has been fighting an incredibly difficult medical battle without the clarity of a diagnosis. What began as concerning symptoms has turned into a long and exhausting search for answers. Doctors believe Michael may be dealing with a rare histiocytic disorder, but despite countless appointments, tests, and procedures..including a biopsy of his brain, a bone biopsy, multiple MRIs, genetic testing, and consultations with specialists across several states...he is still waiting for a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.

The physical toll has been immense. Michael’s symptoms affect his daily functioning in nearly every way, yet he continues to push forward with incredible determination. At just 39 years old, Michael works full-time as a marriage and family therapist, often driving long distances and working late hours to support his clients. Simply making it through the workday requires nearly all of the energy he has.

Through it all, his wife Michelle has been a constant source of strength. She has been tirelessly coordinating appointments, advocating for Michael’s care, and taking on additional responsibilities at home as his symptoms have increasingly affected his physical abilities.

Michael’s medical team is now considering a trip to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where specialists may be able to provide the answers and treatment plan that have remained out of reach for nearly two years.
