Hello friends! My lovely partner, Aoife, will be having bottom surgery on June 14th. This is something she's been looking forward to for quite some time and the date is quickly approaching. We are hoping to fundraise for some of the costs associated with her pre- and post-surgery care. If you'd like to know more about the costs associated with the surgery, check out the information below. There will also be an itemized list of items linked below so you know where your donation will be going.

Although her insurance is covering most of the surgery itself, Aoife will be traveling across the state to receive care so she will need to stay at a hotel the night before her surgery, as well as for several days after she is released from the hospital until her follow up appointment. Luckily, a hotel in the area is offering a discounted rate through partnership with the hospital (screenshots of pricing in link below: 4 nights at 119/night + taxes/fees = approx. $500)

Additionally, Aoife will need several medications and supplies for both pre- and post-surgery care. I have allotted for this in the overall fundraising amount - little over $400. I have also included an Amazon wishlist below, if you'd rather purchase something for Aoife directly. Since these items are accounted for both in the wishlist and overall fundraising goal, any additional funds will be used for Aoife's prescriptions post-surgery, and any remaining funds after that will be donated to another person undergoing gender-affirming surgery. We hope to pay your kindness forward as much as we can!

Finally, Aoife will need to consume a clear liquid diet the day before her surgery, as well as have access to easy-to-make meals and protein drinks/bars during her healing process post-surgery. As a quick aside, I have listed myself as the beneficiary for this fundraiser. Rest assured, Aoife will be receiving all of the money and items purchased with the money, however, in the weeks leading up to her surgery, Aoife will have enough on her plate, so I'll be ordering the supplies for her care.
