Ashamed but hopeful

After working 26 years for the State of California, I was fired for knowing they broke the law. I was vehicle coordinator and was aware of a serious accident (1 death), that they ultimately got out of by having me UNKNOWINGLY lie. After a few months it started affecting my mental health. Panic attacks daily, no sleeping, no eating. Finally my doctor pulled me out of work for intense therapy. While there my job called me daily (I was on disability). I returned and they found a way to fire me that I tried to fight but ultimately lost. I am 57 years old and I have applied to a minimum of 1000 jobs. If anyone thinks that age discrimination does not exist they need to have a conversation with me. I was forced to retire, even though I was only 50 years old because I had zero income. Because I was so young I am only bringing home $1400. After my bills are paid I am left with $200 for food, gas extras any medical co-pays, etc. I made the title what it is because that’s how I feel. I’ve never done something like this before thank you so much for at least reading my post and if you did donate God bless you.
