Attorney Retainer

I am in need of an attorney once more for an old case brought by an anti choice clinic protester who harasses those going to seek healthcare at the Women's Center/s for which I am innocent of the charges against me, and I am asking for any assistance that may be available from those who would be so inclined to donate towards the cause.

As many of those that are my friends and fellow activists know, I was falsely accused of assault by a hateful anti choice protester when acting as a volunteer clinic defender/escort way back in March of 2020.

Throughout this ordeal, it has been delayed with Covid, change of courts, the passing of my first attorney and finding new council, and various health matters affecting the judge and my attorney.

As we finally made progress towards an actual trial date, my now former attorney announced that he was able to work out a deal for a pre-trial diversion. This came as a surprise to me as I had been very vocal throughout as only wanting trial and acquittal, or dismissal of charges, because I am innocent and fully believe the evidence will show as much.

Though it was made out by the attorney as though it would not be a guilty plea, because it would 'only' be unsupervised probation, I was determined to not let it be seen as a win in the eyes of the hateful anti bully who lied on me. Any form of probation or costs paid to benefit her or the state is admission of guilt to me.

I believed it was almost finished, as we had a trial date set and my attorney and the DA agreed in front of the judge that I would go to trial and my co-defendant would take the pre-trial diversion. The DA then later admitted (as did my then attorney) he did not consider the possibility that one defendant would take the plea offer and the other would not. Due to the offer *upsetting the affiant*, it was changed to an all or nothing offer where both my co-defendant and I had to take the plea or go to trial.

After giving it more consideration, all this did was make me that much more determined to fight it. We went to court and our joint attorney recused himself, and we were ordered to find separate council.

I am able to present new council that I am confident in being able to show my innocence in my next court appearance on the 28th, and I would like to be able to remit the full retainer so he is able to prepare my case in its entirety and see this through at last.

I appreciate any and all assistance I receive in the fight to prove my innocence. It means a great deal to me to see it through, as well as that I have those willing to help me fight when there are so many fights for justice still happening all around.
