I never, ever thought I would be writing these words. Asking for help like this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but my family is on the brink of losing absolutely everything, and pride won't keep a roof over my kids' heads.

Five years ago, we did the unthinkable. We bought our dream home. To some, it’s just brick and mortar, but to us, it was the finish line of a lifetime of grueling hard work. For years, I poured my heart into my job distributing tortillas—a job I absolutely loved because it allowed me to provide for my family and build a foundation for our future.

This house has seen the entire beautiful, messy story of our lives. It’s where we watched our two amazing kids grow up, navigating their first awkward teenage romances in the living room and rushing off to their mornings at our local Catholic school. It’s the backyard pool where we spent countless hot afternoons suffocating the heat with pure laughter, splashing around, and just being together. Every square inch of this place holds a memory—every Christmas morning, every birthday candle blown out, every shared tear, and every loud, echoing laugh. It is the only anchor we have.

What breaks my heart the most right now is the clock ticking down. This summer is incredibly sacred for us. My son is graduating next year, and he will be parting for college before we know it. This is supposed to be our last precious stretch of time to just be a family under one roof. We wanted so badly to give our kids a great summer—a final chapter of pure childhood joy and comfort in the only home they really know before he takes his first steps out into the real world. Instead, they are watching their parents drown.

Over the last few years, the universe has tested us relentlessly. My beautiful wife has been battling a brutal, ongoing illness. Watching the person you love suffer is a heavy enough cross to bear, but the medical strain was just the beginning.

In February, the bottom dropped out. I unexpectedly lost my dream job. We immediately went into survival mode, cutting every single expense to the bone, trying desperately to stay afloat on a single income. Then, last month, the unthinkable happened: my wife lost her job too.

Just like that, we became a zero-income household.

We are drowning. The financial hardship has hit us like a freight train, and we have officially reached the terrifying point where our house is facing imminent foreclosure. The thought of a bank taking away the walls that protected my wife through her sickness, the pool where my kids grew up laughing, and the sanctuary where my son should be packing his bags for college makes me physically sick.

Our only priority right now is keeping our kids safe and housed while we aggressively hunt for new employment. But we can't buy time without your help. We need to raise the funds to catch up on our missed mortgage payments and stop the foreclosure process before it is too late.

If this house is just wood and drywall, then let it go. But it isn't. It is our sanctuary. It is my wife’s place of healing. It is my kids' childhood, and the place we need to send our son off to college from.
