Baby Casey, my precious Great Grandson, will be undergoing his first open heart surgery on Thursday, July 13th, 2017. Many of you have seen the results of our prayers and your donations for which we are eternally grateful. Sadly, Casey continues to need your help, as his Medical Team at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh continue to determine his diagnoses, review treatment options and propose outcomes.

God gave Casey the perfect parents who are powerful examples of Parenthood. Mabz,17, & Tim, 20, dated for 2 years and married in September 2016. These parents are not even 21, yet, they are more devoted than many twice their ages. When faced with incredibly difficult choices...they choose to give their child the best life possible. Their unconditional love is beyond words and demonstrated in actions. Since Casey's birth, his parents continue to receive their education & work full time, while alternating home and child care responsibilities, so one of them are always meeting Casey's specialized needs. Timothy recently obtained his diploma and is determining his next steps. As Casey has become sicker, the family travels 100s of miles weekly due to multiple medical appointments, ER visits and hospitalizations lasting hours to months in the hospital due to the complications he sufferers. Now that surgery is required ASAP, they are living temporarily with Mabz family which is a tremendous help. However, they are 2 hours from where he receives most of his specialized care.

Please remember...Baby Casey is an innocent little gift from God & he needs all your prayers. We are thrilled he will be Baptized on July 10, 2017 also.

As of 7/23/17, these are some of the issues Baby Casey faces:

1. Congestive Heart Failure: July 13, 2017, first of multiple surgeries that weren't expected to occur for 1-5 years. Casey's heart is on the RIGHT (opposite) side of his chest, no upper wall formed to create normal four chambers, and major arteries and values are malformed. All of which causes his heart to overwork. Additionally, the blood flows into his chest placing pressure on his organs, especially his lungs causing abnormal breathing.

 

2. Double-cleft lip and cleft palate: Currently, wears a mouthpiece to help mold facial features. Casey's mouth and the apparatus require daily cleanings and weekly adjustments which he just loves for all the obvious reasons…kinda like going to the dentist every day, YUK!!! During multiple surgeries to reconstruct his facial features, they will also seek to determine the reason he aspirates food requiring the GI tube implant and 3-hour routine feedings; insert tubes in his ears to assist with hearing and anticipated speech issues, and address any additional concerns. First surgery scheduled September 2017.

3. Torticollis: Casey's neck is crooked and a flat spot on his head requires specialized headgear worn for at least a year.

4. Kidney Disorder: Monitoring function.

Here's what we NEED you to do please. The limited income they earn will be reduced during the pending hospital stays and the minimal assistance they receive will not cover all their expenses. Therefore, we are asking for donations of gas or pre-paid credit cards or please donate ANY amount of money to help this precious angel & his parents as they all have a very long road ahead of them.
